Al Morelli
Manufacturing and Operations Consultant

In 1985, Al Morelli founded Searchtec Consulting Group, specializing in corporate advisory and operations management services to manufacturing companies. Today Searchtec is a leading professional services firm dedicated to providing turnaround management consulting, interim management, manufacturing-industrial engineering and performance improvement services spanning multiple industries and products.

                 
With more than twenty years of corporate industry experience, Mr. Morelli has led numerous advisory engagements in a variety of industries. He is an industry expert in performance improvements and cost reductions. Most recently, he served as President, Institute of Industrial Engineers-Orange County Chapter . He continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors at the Center of Competitive Technology. Also, he is currently Industry Professor - Industrial Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC).

Mr. Morelli previously founded and served as General Manager of ECT, Inc., a manufacturer of automotive catalytic converters. Additionally, he workred as a Consultant for California Manufacturing Technology Center, Manager Policies-Strategic Planning for the Los Angeles County Transportation Authority (MTA), and Manager of Industrial Engineering at several manufacturing companies. He also served as a restructuring advisor on the Charter Commission for re-structuring the County of Orange after their declared bankruptcy, a Director on the Board of Economic Development-Orange Coast College where he was the Founder for the Small Business Expo/Conference.

Mr. Morelli was selected by the Grand Jury to serve on the Orange County Citizen Oversight Committee overseeing the funding of Measure M, a 2.3 billion dollar tax initiative

Mr. Morelli holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic University-San Luis Obispo and an M.S. in Industrial & System Engineering from the University of Southern California .




Erich Kreidler
Project Management and Information Systems

Erich Kreidler is currently a senior consultant, where he has managed several restructuring and turn- around projects. He is considered an expert in lean manufacturing, process mapping, work analysis, labor costing and cost reductions.

In addition, he has extensive operational and consulting experience that includes execution of large information systems (ERP) enterprise projects and account management in Fortune 300 companies, such as Safeway, PacifiCare, Andersen Windows, WellPoint, DHL Worldwide Express and Sempra Energy.

Also, Erich managed the development of software applications at US Technology, Documine, Inc. and various Internet Applications Service providers including offshore developers. Erich’s industry publications include “The Do’s and Don’ts of Offshore Software Development”, which was conferred with the “Most Traffic Award” by www.itpapers.com (CNET).

Mr. Kreidler is Past President and a founding member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers , Orange County Chapter. Erich is also an active member of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) and the Newport Beach Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Erich holds MBA in Business Administration from the University of California , Irvine and a BS in Industrial Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where he obtained the President’s Award for Outstanding Achievements.




Tom Scroggin
Quality Management-ISO Expert


Tom is a quality assurance expert. In the past, he has held Quality Director positions at companies like Clarent and Fairchild Industries.

During the past 20-years in the field of quality management, he has received several Quality-Profession certifications from ASQ (CQT, CQE, CQA and CQM), ASNT Level -III and RAB and IRCA Lead Auditor for Quality Systems. For the past ten years, he has been an ISO, AS and EMS Lead Auditor certified by RAB, IRCA and IATCA. In addition to these certifications, he holds a BS degree in Management, with a TQM Professional Designation from UCLA.

Over the course of his career, he has worked in the aerospace, automotive, electronics and telecommunications industries. In 1995, he was a Malcolm Baldridge Nation Quality Program Examiner for the State of California . As an auditor, Tom contracts to several registrars as an ISO Lead Auditor, an AEA Aerospace Auditor and an Environmental Auditor.

Tom’s aerospace experience includes working for Garrett AiResearch as a Quality Engineer and NDT Level III and Director of Quality at Fairchild Fastener. In addition, he served at aerospace positions working as an auditor and quality inspector .

Since 1997, Tom has made over 25 trips to Mainland China where he negotiated contracts and resolved engineering and quality issues. He spent significant time in working with various factories there and was a speaker at the First US/China Quality Conference in 1998. In 2001 and again in 2004, Tom organized and chaired the China-America Quality Conference in Beijing and now he specializes in doing international quality programs. Tom has studied Chinese culture, history and language at UCLA and speaks basic Mandarin.





Kamran Abedini, Ph.D
Professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona .


His extensive professional consulting practices include engineering analysis of production and office facilities to improve work methods  and also setting up training programs. 

Clients include The Gas Company of Southern California , Johnson Controls and Mervyns.

Dr. Abedini has also taught several preparation courses for the California State examinations for Professional Engineers. 

Dr. Abedini received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in Industrial and Systems Engineering after receiving three other degrees, in addition to certificates in the field of Engineering. He is an active member of several professional associations including being a Regional Vice President of Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). He has also made several presentations for both government and private agencies, has published numerous articles and is the recipient of many awards including the National Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).




Bruce Junor
Project Management

Bruce Junor has implemented dozens of productivity improvement, work measurement, cost reduction, expansion, relocation, and consolidation and integration projects for several manufacturing companies.

Mr. Junor is a graduate industrial engineer with over 40 years practical experience where he served as a corporate industrial engineering director for several Fortune 500 companies. He has directed industrial engineering projects ranging from productivity, work measurement, cost standards, methods, layout and facility planning. His expertise in cost effective manufacturing and management practices includes industries like semiconductor, pharmaceutical, optical, steel, lighting, electronic assembly, packaging, recreational, consumer products and communication industries. He has frequently represented manufacturing and facility interests as a manufacturing expert witness within due diligence ,feasibility studies for merger, acquisitions and consolidation projects.





Hayden E. Claisse
Business Coaching

Hayden has been president of three manufacturing companies. In addition, Hayden’s consulting experience includes 20+ years including McKinsey Consulting.

Hayden has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware, and a BSES in Chemical Engineering from Rockhurst University .

His expert knowledge includes developments of company wide metrics to achieve operational excellence with emphasis on reducing costs while increasing corporate value. Hayden also provides “Business Coaching” to company executives and managers in support of achieving company strategic organizational performance.





Mahir H. Barkho
Facility Management


Mahir Barkho is Searchtec’s senior consultant with expert knowledge in plant engineering, facilities and construction projects.

Mr. Barkho has extensive experience in the chemical industry, where he worked as Plant -Facility Engineer for chemical companies. He is currently a General Contractor licensed with the State of California .

He holds a BS Degree in Civil Engineering and a MS Degree in Environmental Engineering.






Roy Peters, P.E
Chemical and Food Industry


Mr. Peters is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of California (#CH3768),

He has a BS in Chemical Engineering - University of Delaware , MBA - Alexander Hamilton Institute and is an elected member of AIChE.

Key specialty areas includes plant construction and modification, project scheduling and cost estimating, chemical process, regulatory affairs, GMP and ISO regulations .





Tom Willingham
Performance Measurements


Tom Willingham has 18 years of experience in both line management and consulting roles. He has worked with over 30 manufacturing and service facilities to build strong teams and improve their operations. Some of the diverse companies he has worked with include: The Clorox Company, Sanmina Corporation and Weider Nutrition.

Most recently Tom has focused his efforts on helping middle market companies in Southern California to improve their operational and managerial skills through lean manufacturing and integrated performance management techniques. Tom is the founder of Dynamic Performance Software, an operational improvement monitoring program.

Tom has a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois , MS in Industrial Engineering and MBA degrees from the University of Southern California .





Louis Fabricio Bermeo
Industrial Engineering Consultant


BS Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering- California Polytechnic State University, Pomona .

Member, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.

He served in the U.S. Air Force where he was responsible for the accountability, inspection, and maintenance of military equipment and where he was awarded numerous certificates of achievement, with a “can do” philosophy before being honorably discharged. He is a member of American Legion, Glendale (Post 127)





Robert W. McClure
Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Consultant

He has extensive industrial engineering experience in various work measurement systems such as time studies, pre-determined time systems-MTM, work sampling and development of labor standard data. Bob is an industry expert in the formulation and development of wage incentive plans.

In addition, Bob has developed manufacturing systems using JIT techniques, demand flow processing, Kanbans and assembly line balancing. Plus, he has several project management experience and working knowledge with ERP information systems such as MAPICS, MAN-MAN, MAX and MACOLA

 

 

Joseph Hernandez

Mr. Hernandez is an accomplished entrepreneur who combines his practiced intuition with his international corporate experience across a diverse range of industries from commercial real estate development to high tech, biomed, pharmaceuticals and the health care industry.  His extensive experience within the Asia Pacific market has benefited Mr. Hernandez with a thorough understanding of foreign cultures and significant international expertise in developing economies has allowed him to deliver reliable advice, guidance, and sound business solutions.  In addition to this diverse international background, Mr. Hernandez is an expert in semiconductor technologies with emphasis on broadband communications with such industry icons as Broadcom, Connexant, Mindspeed and Cisco Systems.

Max Sudakow

 

Max Sudakow has considerable experience in management, manufacturing and engineering design.  His industry experience includes several executive level management positions at several corporations where he has had full Profit & Loss and Production responsibility.  As a consultant, Max has provided practical solutions for manufacturing problems, prepared strategic business plans, and has mentored as a management coach.

Max educational background includes a Bachelor degree in Engineering along with a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Over 25 years of “hands on” experience as Plant Manager and VP of Operations in the and offshore.  An accomplished process improvement strategist who through his leadership and expertise has produced major turnarounds and record growth in such companies as; GE, Mitel, Hitachi, Marconi and JDS Uniphase as well as  many other smaller businesses.  Offering expert knowledge and experience in ERP with Class “A” implementations. John has produced significant impact on profitability and positioning for growth in the organizations he has served.

 

John is certified by APICS in production and inventory management (CPIM). He holds a BA from Western States University , and attended the MBA program at Xavier University .

 

 

 

 

Paul Garza

Public Affairs, Public Relations and Government Relations

 

Paul is government public relation expert with extensive experience in the Latino market and with community development programs.

His past experience includes serving as the Vice-President for Economic and Workforce Development for the Orange County Business Council. He was responsible for developing a county wide economic development strategy, promoting Orange County as a premier business environment, and assisting businesses. While there he initiated several major projects including Orange County Innovation Week and Latino Educational Attainment. Paul joined the Business Council following eight years as the Director of Economic Development for Rancho Santiago Community College District where he was acquired the grant for the Digital Media Center, was responsible for the District's efforts in small business development, contract training, and several other programs providing services to business and brought in more than $16 Million in grants and contracts in eight years

 




Rick Lamprecht

Al Guzman

Former manufacturing executive at Fender Musical Instruments, as Vice President- Manufacturing. Al has also conducted business in South Korea, Mexico, and Japan, so he is very effective in managing multiple tasks in a culturally diverse environment. Al is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University's School of Industrial Engineering. In addition he is currently serving as a Board Member for the Fender Center for the Performing Arts in Corona, California and former President of the Corona Manufacturers Council.Mr. Guzman unique background is augmented with his bilingual fluency in the Spanish language.
